Something happens if you endure great hardship or are persecuted for the sake of the Kingdom of God. This article shows you the four rewards if you suffer for Jesus Christ.

What type of suffering is this article talking about?

To set the stage for this article, let’s start by defining the type of suffering we’re talking about. A Christian can suffer for our Lord Jesus Christ while encountering great challenges in salvation or while preaching the gospel of our Lord.

Likewise, a believer can make many personal or financial sacrifices for the Kingdom of God. But more importantly, a Christian can be persecuted because of his or her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. You will find favor in the eyes of God.

First, our Heavenly Father finds you admirable and worthy of praise if you suffer for our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, listen to what God is telling you in 1 Peter 2:20:

But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.

  1. God will increase your supernatural protection. Secondly, when you suffer for our Lord Jesus Christ and do not give up the assignment God has given you, our Heavenly Father will command more of His angels to protect you.

Hence, listen to what the written word of God in the Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 3:3:

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the evil one.

  1. God will fight your battles.

Furthermore, when you suffer for the Kingdom of God, our Heavenly Father will become your advocate. As a result, God will defend you in the situation you are facing.

Listen to what God is telling you in Isaiah 49:25-26:

Yes, captives will be taken from warriors,
and plunder retrieved from the fierce;
I will contend with those who contend with you,
and your children I will save.
26 I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh;
they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine.
Then all mankind will know
that I, the Lord, am your Savior,
your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

  1. Your greatest investment is in Heaven.

Furthermore, if you suffer for our Lord Jesus Christ, you are greatly making an investment in heaven. If you were to be given a tour of heaven today, you will find that some of the best mansions there belong to those who have suffered a lot for God’s Kingdom.
