God opens and closes doors. It’s a popular message in many Christian circles. Yesterday during morning meditative prayer I had a vision of a bunch of keys. Some were made of silver and some were made of gold. I could see three of the keys clearly. One was labeled prayer, one was labeled faith and the last one was labeled praise. These three keys open beautiful doors but we don’t use them as much as we should. Those doors should be wide open. Prayer, praise and faith are important keys that should be handled with care and handled all the time. We ought to keep them in our spiritual pocket and know where they are at all times. Let me look closer at those three keys.

The faith key

The faith key was the smallest key. It was made of gold. It looked like a mailbox key. It made me think of the symbolism of mailboxes. They contain letters. They bring us news. Sometimes it is good news, sometimes it is bills (not so good!). The one little key gives us access to all of that information then we grab all of the papers and letters. Holding them in our hands is the idea that we can handle them all. Faith is the key that helps us handle any type of news, good or bad. Faith is the key that allows us to react to anything positively. Whatever happens to us is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it. With the faith key our 90% should be a strong, God-based response laced in positivity and hope. The faith key might be small but it opens the door to the impossible! Combine it with the prayer key and nothing will be impossible.

The prayer key

Prayer is a key that opens many doors. When you add faith to your prayers, amazing things happen. Some doors require two keys. They have two different locks. The prayer key and the faith key open doors that lead to incredible rooms or situations if you will. I have seen doors with two different locks mostly in Europe. Those doors seem hard to open and when you do it feels like quite an accomplishment. Keep those two keys together. There are no fortified doors that can’t be open when you have those two keys. When I was a kid we had what they call an armored front door. It was sturdy and very hard to open. There was an extra layer of protection. Some of the doors you need to open in life have that extra layer of protection. They are difficult to open but once you do, you find great treasures inside. The faith key and the prayer key will get you there.

The praise key

The enemy wants you to misplace your keys. He especially wants you to lose the praise key. He can’t stand praise. He knows the Lord inhabits the praises of His people. He knows that praise brings God to the scene faster than anything else. Use this key all the time. I mean it. Use the praise key day and night. Use it and God will open doors that no one can shut. Use it to lock doors of protection and stay inside God’s comfort zone. Praise creates a zone of protection that the enemy can’t enter. Friend, keep God’s keys close to you. More than any other keys, use the love key. It’s God’s master key that can open more doors than you know!
