You may find this hard to believe, but it is true. As a matter of fact, you can talk to God our Father through your thoughts, and he will answer you.
God is always reading our thoughts.
To begin with, we need to know that our thoughts are always before God. Our Heavenly Father is always reading these thoughts and can respond to them if he wants. This is the reason why we must keep our thoughts pure all the time.
Bad thoughts always dishonor us before God.
Secondly, when your mind wanders away from God and you start harboring evil thoughts, then you become a disgrace before our Heavenly Father. The presence of God will move away from you.
Sarah’s thoughts of unbelief came before God.
God had already assured Abraham that his wife Sarah would have a child within the next 12 months. However, Sarah strongly doubted and said like this within her thoughts as indicated in Genesis 18:12 (Good New Translation):
Now that I am old and worn out, can I still enjoy sex? And besides, my husband is old too.
God rebuked Sarah because of her bad thoughts.
Our Heavenly Father read Sarah’s evil as well as her unbelieving thoughts and said to Abraham like this:
Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.
God answered King David’s thoughts.
As another example, before King David spoke to the prophet Nathan in 2 Samuel 7:2, he had already said within his thoughts like this while lying alone in his bed at night:
Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent!
Our Heavenly Father read David’s thoughts and gave him an appropriate answer through Prophet Nathan as indicated in 2 Samuel 7:4-17.
Start talking to God through your thoughts.
As another way to pray, begin to talk to our Heavenly Father through your thoughts. Present to him all your needs, your concerns and your expectations in relation to his promises.
If you do this, God will respond to your thoughts one way or another, in an amazing way just as he did to King David.
This type of prayer is very convenient in places where you cannot pray with your mouth.
You can actually talk to God using your thoughts.
