Not all sins are the same because God judges more harshly some sins. This article presents how sins are weighed in heaven.

No sin will ever enter Heaven.

To begin, we all need to know that no sin will ever enter heaven. As indicated in 2 Peter 3:13, this is what Our Father in Heaven says:

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

Simple sins.

First, heaven considers some sins to be simple, for example if someone sins unintentionally. For such sins God will judge someone less seriously. Such sinners will go to a lesser hot part of hell.

On the contrary, God is much more provoked by serious sin. This results in his great wrath. People who commit such sins are judged severely by God.

A good example of a serious sin is idolatry and worshipping other gods. Listen to what happened in Exodus 32:31:

So Moses went back to the Lord and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold.

Other serious sins as mentioned in Revelation 21:8 include cowards who turn back from following Jesus Christ, murderers (including those who abort babies), the sexually immoral, and sorcerers.

God will judge serious sins more harshly.

In fact, we must understand that God will send people who seriously sin to the hottest part of hell, where there is much more torture and suffering.

A good example of people whom God will judge severely are sinful preachers of the word of God.

Listen to what God’s written word in James 3:1:

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
